What happens. if I put diesel in the petrol engine. do you think? will it ignite?
No.
The engine won't start. but why?
If you put diesel in the petrol engine. the combustion will not happen, you should know about three things of an engine.
compression ratio. it is a ratio of maximum to the minimum volume in the cylinder. the compression ratio for a diesel engine is 16-20 and 7-10 for petrol.
knocking. Knocking is the Autoignition or preignition of air and fuel mixture.
Ignition temperature. it is the minimum temperature of substance at which it ignites.
diesel has high ignition point. so if you put it into the petrol engine, which has lower compression ratio than the diesel. diesel will not ignite and spark plug can't ignite the diesel. and it is a viscous fuel, it also used as a lubricant. it can't be mixed properly inside the chamber.
So after putting this into the petrol engine. it will not work. and the engine will not start.
